since robert asked us to see more, read more, and analyze, analyze, and ANALYZE MORE about colors......!!i really do so and try hard to apply the color theories i've learned instead of doing our project only.
when i was doing the blogging on the web,i discovered a interesting brand
- Eley Kishimoto -
which was set by a couple, Mark Eley (husband) and Wakako Kishimoto (wife).
i would say they are very good at using colors (though they hardly play safe in colors, they can make a good approach still.) and graphic patterns.
not only in this 09 s/s collection, but the previous ones as well.
Double complementary

Complementary + Achromatic

Adjacent complementary

Analogous

as you can see in the photos above, this brand hardly use monochromatic scheme, even when they use the analogous color, it's not too close to each other, saturation and value were adjusted in order to create a visualized contrast.
though many colors are used in this collection, we still can see it as a whole.
it's because the proportion of the clothes are almost the same, it helps to organize various colors in a good combination. and i believe it orders in contrast of color since colors aim at strengthening the existence of each other instead of merging.
